In 1974, the Miss Universe Pageant was held in Manila. Our candidate, Guadalupe "Guada" Cuerva Sanchez, a 17-year-old I.S. student, was among the 12 semi-finalists.
Miss Amparo Munoz became the Miss Universe, only to abdicate after appearing nude in a movie.
